Well, D40 and D60 …
Well, D40 and D60 have one big difference: ISO 100 ability, more features, and .5 FPS faster. Those doesn’t really concern everyone because when shooting in RAW, those in-camera settings become useless because it applies to JPEG’s only.

The earliest videos was filmed with crappy built in webcam on my MacBook Pro so now I got Sony VX2100 (a MiniDV camcorder) so I would say it was a big step with improved everything. :)

Okay…

Set in M-Mode for 1/250s, set for Continuous Shooting, set for No-Card OK, make sure your autofocus switch is in “M” (manual), and shoot away.

No problem, mate. …
No problem, mate. If I remember correctly, SanDisk Ultra II can write ~10-15 megabytes per second which isn’t fast enough because D40’s RAW is approximately the same size so that makes one photo per second for Ultra II.

With Extreme III or IV Series SD’s – Series III writes 30MB per second, IV writes 40MB per second. If frame rate isn’t a concern then Ultra II will do just fine.

Thanks a lot man. I …
Thanks a lot man. I currently use a SanDisk Ultra II SD card. I mean, I don’t really need the 2.5 fps but I wanted to figure out why it wasn’t shooting it consistently. Thanks for the help.

Lilkiwiguy87 Said,

I did this in JPEG …
I did this in JPEG format and enable the “No Card” option then D40 will shoot 2.5 frames per second without a SD card in.

If you want to shoot RAW, you would need SanDisk Extreme III or IV SD card because it write the RAW pictures lightning fast onto SD card.

SolidVictory Said,

Hey I tried this on …
Hey I tried this on RAW and it does shoot at 2.5 FPS, but only for the first 3 shots. Why?

SolidVictory Said,
October 25th, 2008 @1:05 pm

What settings do …
What settings do you use to get 2.5 fps on the D40? I tried setting it on Manual, having my lens on Manual, the shutter speed at 250, and it still doesn’t shoot 2.5 fps.

Lilkiwiguy87 Said,

It is because 1/ …
It is because 1/250s is the fastest speed for the shutter curtain to open and close.

Lol, works as well …
Lol, works as well on my D50 – why will it only do it at 1/250 second?
